Information Covered
We will not only cover the birth process and what to expect from
such a wonderful experience, but will also cover a vast amount
of practical advice and suggestions that will make the
transformation from couple to family a rewarding
experience.
Some of the subjects you can look forward to discussing are:
- The changes your body experiences during
pregnancy.
- Videos and interactive discussions on Natural Birth as well as
Caesarean Section delivery. I have endeavoured to
create an environment where women feel comfortable to air
their views regardless of what type of delivery they have
choosen to have. Some of the topics discussed will
be:
- Use of relaxation techniques to ease the pain of
labour.
- Pain relief is available to be used if and when you need
it.
- How to ensure that the birth of your baby is a fulfilling
experience.
- How to ensure that your recovery
from the birth is optimal.
- Sometimes however the scarier part about having a baby is taking that
baby home. We will therefore spend time discussing the
following topics:
- Managing the first 6 weeks of your baby’s life with discussions on
topics such as infant sleep, colic and how to manage
crying.
- Infant nutrition, including breast feeding (covered fully as part of
the course) and bottle feeding.
- On becoming a new Dad.
- Hints on how to make bathing, travelling and other ventures easier.
Class Dates and TimesThe Birth Preparation Classes are run over 2 consecutive Saturdays.
